Methods of CO2 separation from air, ways of its use and long-term storage
Kober, Ondřej ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
Combustion of fossil fuels creates greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. The most important of these gases is carbon dioxide. Although it occurs naturally in the atmosphere, human emissions upset the balance of various natural processes. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to conduct a background research in the field of carbon dioxide capture, storage and utilization. The thesis also describes the role of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, its cycle and human influence on carbon dioxide concentration.
Separation and storage of CO2
Odložilík, Martin ; Chroboczek, Libor (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The main objective of this work is to clarify the methods for CO2 capture and storage as an option to limit global warming. The first part is further explained by a phenomenon known as the greenhouse effect, there is illustrated his principle, the effects of climate change, the main factors increasing its intensity and its possible reduction. Framework of the second part is description of the technologies and methods of CO2 capture and storage, the individual steps in these processes and also the possible development in the future. Next chapter discusses the pilot research programs and application of referred technologies to in practice. The last part of this work is devoted to the economical aspect of the problems.
Measurement of greenhouse gas concentrations
Dohnal, Jan ; Novák, Vítězslav (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This semester thesis deals with the greenhouse effect, various gases and methods of measurement. On the greenhouse effect is viewed from its historical dating, despite changes in atmospheric composition and reactions of individual institutions. It contains a theoretical analysis of the individual gases. It focuses on the most harmful greenhouse gases such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, ozone, chlorofluorocarbons and halons. Analysis methods for detection of gaseous substances. Part of this work is focus on the detection of nitrogen dioxide and chloro-fluorocarbon. The data is processed using a microcontroller and then sent to an Internet server thingspeak.com. If the device proves successful, will be used as a laboratory exercise in the course Ecology in electronics.

Terraforming Mars
Gabriel, Michael ; Frlorián,, Miloš (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Terraforming mars by autonomous robotic building system, inspired by social insect. Idea design of robotic solution, their transportation and software. Design of structures builded by robots and their function. Pyramidal structures interwoven with ice tunnel, heat the atmosphere of Mars and accumulate heat in their mass. These structures are built with cheap and simple robots that mimic the behavior of social insects.
Preparation of laboratory exercise for school subject Ecology in Manufacturing
Balcárková, Lucie ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of laboratory task on selected topics and brings together theoretical knowledge needed to understand the principle and function of the proposed system. The theoretical design is elaborated from the point of view of physical principles, physical feasibility, electronic difficulty, user service, correctness of the system, and its economic aspect. Furthermore, the practical implementation of the chosen task is disscussed in detail, based on the collected theoretical knowledge, a comparison of the available options and the results of the measurements made.
Quaternary climate changes: Analysis of the primary/secondary and high school textbooks
HAVLÍKOVÁ, Adriana
The bachelor's thesis deals with climatic changes in the Quaternary and its content in natural history, geography, and history textbooks for elementary and high schools. In the first part, we learn about the basic terms for a better understanding of the issue. Furthermore, both natural and anthropogenic causes, consequences, and development of climate changes in history from prehistoric times to the present. The second part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the topic of climate change in textbooks. The results are summarized in a clear table. The main goal of the work was to analyse the information that are obtained in the textbooks to evaluate whether the topics which, are contained in the textbooks, are sufficient for students for fully understanding. At the end, a worksheet for the 9th grade of elementary school was created as a supplemental curriculum, which is intended to help with the correct understanding of the topic of climate change and to avoid misinterpretations.
Thermal radiation in real life
Kalus, Petr ; Zálešák, Martin (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the impact of heat transfer by radiation on the life around us. The research part summarizes the fundamental laws and concepts necessary for understanding the given issue. Furthermore, it describes and analyzes phenomena in everyday life where radiation is dominant. The greatest attention has been devoted to solar radiation, followed by the greenhouse effect, along with its influence on global warming. The thesis also includes a procedure for calculating heat transfer by radiation between two surfaces, based on which a Python script was written. Subsequently, a standalone application with a graphical interface was developed. The conclusion of the thesis focuses on describing the software development process and provides examples of test cases in thermomechanics.
Emise spalovacích motorů ve vztahu k životnímu prostředí
Cahová, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis concerned with emissions issue that arises during the burning of fuels in combustion engines, considering the environment. In introduction there are generally described burning fuels, then chapter about different types of fuels follows. The most important part of this thesis concerned with emissions having impact on the environment and possibilities of reducing their negative impacts on environment, atmosphere and human life. Also, it deals with analysis of individual data relating to emissions in the Czech Republic.
